We are Glebelands are very proud of the outcomes that we achieve in phonics and reading. Last year 80% of our children achieved the expected standard in the Phonics check at the end of year 1.  We are very pleased to be using the ALS validated phonics scheme which begins by introducing our Nursery children to the environmental sounds around them before progressing onto rhyme and rhythm, and segmenting and blending. In Reception year and Year 1 children progress onto discriminating specific sounds that make up the English language.
