Curriculum
The Glebelands Curriculum has the children at its heart. We have therefore developed our own curriculum to meet their needs and prepare them for life in modern Britain and the wider world. The curriculum is underpinned by the school's core values of Learning, Respect, Kindness and Empathy. We also recognise that the diverse nature of the school community means that the curriculum should also represent their cultural experiences and background and that this should be celebrated by all pupils in the school.
Staff have worked together to identify the common theme of 'Humanity' that runs through the curriculum. Each unit within the curriculum address this golden thread by exposing the children to age appropriate learning about issues that are challenging and thought provoking. The result of this is that children leave Glebelands with a clear understanding of their own place of society and the role that they play to create a tolerant, respectful, loving global community.

Curriculum Maps
Glebelands Primary School Uses the ALS phonics scheme to teach phonics. This scheme has been validated by the DfE and is used from Nursery to end of Year 1. For children who do not pass the phonics screening check at the end of Year 1, phonics teaching continues into Year 2. Interventions are also used for children in Year 3.
